AT-KABUL: Criminal Justice Task Force (CJTF) on Sunday said that 121 drug runners were arrested in the first quarter of solar year, said officials.
Counter Narcotics Police apprehended 117 smugglers through different crackdown in various provinces in the first quarter of this year, said CJTF.
After primary investigation the detained drug traffickers were handed over to CJTF court for criminal proceedings.
The primary court of CJTF out of 117 arrested drug traffickers sentenced 121 of them to jail in the first quarter of the year.
Two public security officers and eight women are among the smugglers sentenced to Jail.
Some 1,288 kg of heroin, 1,013 kg of morphine, 3,518 kg opium, 3,121 kg hashish, 23,572 kg precursor and 91,236 liters of alcoholic beverages recovered and confiscated from the abovementioned smugglers.
