AT-KABUL: Afghan security forces detained 15 suspected militants in central Maidan Wardak province, said a local official.
The provincial police chief, Muhammad Khalil Andarabi, said that Afghan security forces conducted a military operation against the militants, responsible for killing civilians on Kabul-Ghazni highway. The operation was conducted in Jang-e-Pain and Jang-e-Bala areas of Sayedabad district of the province, he added.
Andarabi said that security forces arrested 15 suspected militants, including son of Mullah Sher, a Taliban commander.
Mullah Sher is a Taliban commander, who was allegedly involved in killing of 13 civilians on Kabul-Ghazni highway in the province.
It is worth mentioning that insecurity has mounted on most highways of the country recently. Around five incidents of kidnapping have taken place on highways over the past two months.
