15 drug dealers sentenced to prison
AT-KABUL: Fifteen people have been sentenced to short and long term prison time over past week, convicted of dealing and trafficking drugs.
CJTF in a press statement said the primary and appeal court of CJTF have sentenced 15 smugglers to 3 to 20 years in prison.
Counter Narcotics Police (CNP) has seized over 771kg heroin, 9kg morphine, 481kg opium, over 1115kg hashish, 188 liters chemical and 320g crystal from the aforementioned convicted drug runners, added statement.
On the other hand at the same period 10 drug runners were apprehended by CNP through different crackdown in various provinces and were handed over to CJTF for criminal proceedings.
Statement said that the investigation is going on over the dossier of the all indicts by the CJTF, which after examining the evidences and arguments from both sides the CJTF will convict the accused traffickers, added statement.
The 10 other drug traffickers were arrested from Kabul, Nangarhar, Herat, Maidan Wardak, Baghlan and Kandahar provinces.
Some 3kg heroin, 25kg opium, 2331kg hashish, 1kg crystal, 9 liters of alcoholic beverages and 397 tablets of K discovered and seized from the arrested smugglers, noted the statement.
All the convicted drug traffickers would have defense attorneys for their legal defense and will be convicted after separate judicial trials based on the evidence brought before the court and the Counter Narcotics law of Afghanistan.
