‘20 cases registered in violence against reporters’

AT Monitoring Desk-KABUL: 20 violence causes against journalists have been reported in the Journalists Safety Committee, officials said on Saturday.

Briefing newsmen, officials of Ministry of Information and Culture and Journalists Safety Committee said that they have registered 20 violence cases against reporters in the past one month.

The committee also informed of probing 40 cases of violence, including murder cases.

However, some reporters termed the work of Journalist Safety Committee as mere pledges only, in which lacking practical work.

At the same time, Joint Committee of the Government and Journalists informed of completion of some previous case that have been registered as violence against journalists.

Moreover, they said that probe of 172 cases of violence against reporters, including 40 cases of murder, assassination and some others have been completed and will soon be handed over to the justice agencies.

Moreover, the Ministry of Information and Culture also informed of shutting down of accounts and social pages that have been working against national interest. (Kabul News)
