26 insurgents killed in operations

AT-KABUL: At least 26 Taliban fighters were killed and 18 others were wounded in different crackdowns within past 24 hours.

In a press release issued here, Ministry of Defense, (MoD) said that Afghan National Army (ANA) with the cooperation of the Afghan National Police (ANP) and National Directorate of Security (NDS), conducted operations against insurgents in different areas of Nangarhar, Paktia, Paktika, Logar, Ghazni, Kandahar, Uruzgan, Zabul, Daykundi, Badghis, Herat, Faryab, Kunduz and Helmand provinces.

“In these operations, more than 26 rebels were killed and 18 others were injured,” it said.

Afghan forces succeeded to arrest 10 insurgents during operations and handed over them to judicial organs for further inquiry.

“The ANA discovered and confiscated weapons and ammunition in the operations as well.”
