28 insurgents killed in military raids

AT-KABUL: At least 28 militants were killed and 30 others wounded in multiple extensive military crackdowns within past 24 hours.

In a press release issued here, Ministry of Defense, (MoD) said that Afghan National Army (ANA) in collaboration with Afghan National Police (ANP) and National Directorate of Security (NDS) personal has conducted joint operations against insurgents in different areas of Nangarhar, Ghazni, Urzgan, Herat, Badghis, Farah, Faryab, Baghlan, Kunduz, Takhar and Helmand provinces.

Statement said that in these operations 28 insurgents were killed and 30others wounded.

Afghan National and Defense Security forces shelled and bombed the enemies’ positions and sanctuaries by artilleries and air forces.

During these operations in the past 24 hours, eight Taliban fighters were killed and nine others wounded in Grezwan and Andkhoi districts of Faryab, eight insurgents were killed and five others wounded in Shindand and Zawal districts of Herat, four militants were killed and eight others wounded in Qal-e-Zal district of Kunduz province.

Similar,four rebels were killed and five others wounded in Andar district of Ghazni, four insurgents were killed and three others wounded in Dehrawod district of Uruzgan province.

In past 24 hours,10 planed clearing operations, and 96 Special Forces operations conducted in different provinces; also, Air forces conducted91aerial operations supporting Afghan National army including seven strikes on enemy’s sanctuaries.

ANA discovered and confiscated weapons and ammunition in the operations as well.

ANA as the nation’s defense forces are ready to give sacrifice to bring lasting peace and security to the people and are determined to eradicate terror groups in Afghanistan.
