29 insurgents killed in raids

AT-KABUL: At least 29 militants were killed and 15 others were wounded in different crackdowns within past 24 hours.

In a press release issued here, Ministry of Defense, (MoD)said that Afghan National Army (ANA) in collaboration with Afghan National Police (ANP) and National Directorate of Security (NDS) personal has conducted joint operations against insurgents in different areas Nangarhar, Kunar, Nuristan, Kapisa, Logar, Paktia, Logar, Uruzgan, Badakshan, Badghis, Balkh, Faryan and Helmand provinces.

Statement said that in these operations 29 insurgents including three Taliban local commanders were killed and 15 others were injured.

During these operations in the past 24 hours, Afghan National and Defense Security forces shelled and bombed the enemies’ positions by artilleries and air force

During these operations, 13 Taliban fighters including three local commanders were killed and 11 others were wounded in Sarkano and Dara-e-Sheltan of Kunar province, six insurgents were killed in Bargmatal district of Nuristan, four rebels were killed and one injured in Khasurzgan district of Urzgan.

Similar two terrorist killed in Espas area center of Logar province, two insurgents killed and one wounded in Yaftal district of Badakhshan and two Taliban fighters killed and three others injured in Washir district of Helmand province.

In past 24 hours, 13 planed clearing operations, 17 Special Forces operations conducted in 10 provinces; also, Air forces conducted 94 aerial operations supporting Afghan National army including 17 strikes on enemy’s sanctuaries.

ANA discovered and confiscated weapons and ammunition in the operations as well.
