300 technical schools, institutes established last year

KABUL: Technical and Vocational Education Training Authority (TVETA) on Tuesday said that 300 technical schools and institute established across the country last year.

According to statement issued by Government Media and Information Center (GMIC), Head of TVETA Nadima Sahar speaking at accountability conference said that number of technical and vocation training schools increased from 42 to 301 and the number of students have been raised from 15,000 to over 64,000. She said that teachers’ number increased to from 2600 to 4000.

She stated that 129 technical and vocational schools and institute in 33 central cities of provinces and 172 schools and institutes in 156 districts have been establishes as well.

Training runs based on need of market in all the schools and institutes in the provinces, she noted.

Ten schools were established with specialty to train deaf and blind children, she added.

She elaborated that at the objective to boost up quality different programs launched for capacity building of teachers as well as betterment of curriculum.
