31 insurgents killed in military raids

AT News Report-KABUL: At least 31militants have been killed and11others woundedinarmy-operated militaryraids across the country over the past days.

In a press release issued here, Ministry of Defense, (MoD) said that Afghan NationalArmy (ANA) in collaboration with Afghan NationalPolice (ANP) and National Directorate of Security (NDS) personal has conducted joint operations against insurgents in different areasNangarhar, Kunar, Kapisa, Khost, Logar, Paktia, Paktika, Urzgan, Faryab, Balkh and Helmand provinces.

Statement said that in these operations31insurgentswere killed and 11others wounded.

Afghan National and Defense Security forces shelled and bombed the enemies’ positions and sanctuaries by artilleries and air forces.

During these operations in the past 24 hours, 15 Taliban fighters were killed, 12 wounded and 11 motorbike with some weapons and ammunitions destroyed in Waghez, Andar and Muqor districts of Ghazni, 11 insurgents were killed 16 others wounded in Nejrab district of Kapisa, five militants were killed and nine others wounded in Sherintagab district of Faryab province.

In past 24 hours,16planed clearing operations,and 66 Special Forcesoperations conducted in 11provinces; also, Air forces conducted 31aerial operations supporting Afghan National army includingonestrikes on enemy’s sanctuaries.

ANAdiscovered and confiscated weapons and ammunition in the operations as well.

ANA as the nation’s defense forces are ready to give sacrifice to bring lasting peace and security to the people and are determined to eradicate terror groups in Afghanistan.
