36 insurgents killed in raids

AT-KABUL: At least 36 militants were killed and 15 others were wounded in different crackdowns within past 24 hours.

In a press release issued here, Ministry of Defense, (MoD)said that Afghan National Army (ANA) in collaboration with Afghan National Police (ANP) and National Directorate of Security (NDS) personal has conducted joint operations against insurgents in different areas in Nangarhar , Laghman , Kapisa , Paktia , MaidanWardak , Logar , Kandahar , Oruzgan , Farah , Badghis , Ghor , Jawzjan , Faryab , Kundoz , Balkh , Badakhshan and Helmand provinces.

Statement said that in these operations 36 insurgents including two Daesh affiliates were killed and 15 others were injured.

During these operations in the past 24 hours, Afghan National and Defense Security forces shelled and bombed the enemies’ positions by artilleries and air force

During these operations, 15 Taliban terrorists were killed in Seyagerd district of Parwan. Seven insurgents were killed and some amount of weapon and ammunition destroyed in Chora district of Oruzgan. Four insurgents were killed and five others were wounded in Ghormach district of Faryab. Three insurgents were killed and five others were wounded in EmamSaheb district of Kundoz.

Similarly, two ISIS affiliates were killed in Achin district of Nangarhar. Two insurgents were killed and one other was wounded in Nahre-Saraj district of Helmand. Two insurgents were killed and four others were wounded in Alishang district of Laghman. One insurgent was killed in Chak district of MaidanWardak province.

In past 24 hours, 24 planed clearing operations, 14 Special Forces operations conducted in 19 provinces; also, Air forces conducted 67 aerial operations supporting Afghan National army including 20 strikes on enemy’s sanctuaries.

ANA discovered and confiscated weapons and ammunition in the operations as well.
