KABUL: At least 37 militants were killed and three others wounded in multiple extensive military crackdowns carried out by the Afghan security forces across the country in the past 24 hours, security officials said Monday.
Ministry of Defense in a statement said the Afghan National Army (ANA) in collaboration with Afghan National Police (ANP) and National Directorate of Security (NDS) personal conducted joint operations against insurgents in different areas in Paktia, Nangarhar, Kandahar, Zabul, Maidan Wardak and Baghlan provinces, in which 37 militants were killed and three others wounded.
Afghan National Defense and Security Forces (ANDSF) shelled and bombed the enemies’ positions and sanctuaries by artilleries and air forces.
During operations in the past 24 hours, 10 insurgents were killed, two wounded, one vehicle was destroyed and a motorbike was seized in Jaji Aryoub, Zurmat and Mirzaka districts of Paktia – nine militants killed, two vehicles and three motorbikes destroyed in Maruf district of Kandahar – six Daesh affiliates killed in Achin district of Nangarhar – five Taliban fighters killed, one wounded, one motorbike destroyed and some amount of weapons and ammunition were confiscated in Shinkay and Siwari districts of Zabul province.
Similarly, four rebels were killed and one hideout of the enemy destroyed in Chak district of Maidan Wardak and three insurgents were killed in Tala Wa Barfak district of Baghlan province.
In past 24 hours, 25 planed clearing operations, and Special Forces operations conducted in different provinces; also, Air Forces conducted aerial operations supporting Afghan National Army including 15 strikes on enemy’s sanctuaries.
