38 insurgents killed in raids

AT-KABUL: At least 38 militants have been killed, and 26 others were wounded in different crackdowns by the Afghan security forces within past 24 hours, security officials said on Wednesday.

In a press release issued here, the Ministry of Defense, (MoD), said that Afghan National Army (ANA) in collaboration with Afghan National Police (ANP), and National Directorate of Security (NDS), personal has conducted a joint operations against insurgents in different areas of Nangarhar, Kapisa, Kunar, Laghman, Paktika, Kapisa, Khost, Logar, Kandahar, Zabul, Farah, Kunduz, Badghis, Takhar and Helmand provinces, in which 38 insurgents including two Daesh affiliates were killed and 26 others received injuries.

The joint operation of the Defense Security Forces was supporting by the artillery and air forces, the statement added.

Moreover, the ANA discovered and confiscated weapons and ammunition belonging to the insurgents during operations.
