43 insurgents killed in raids

AT-KABUL: At least 43 militants were killed and 11 others were wounded in different crackdowns within past 24 hours.

In a press release issued here, Ministry of Defense (MoD), said that Afghan National Army (ANA) in cooperation with the Afghan National Police (ANP) and National Directorate of Security (NDS), conducted joint operations against insurgents in different areas Nangarhar, Kapisa, Paktia, Paktika, Logar, Khost, Ghazni, Wardak, Uruzgan, Kandahar, Badghis, Baghlan , Faryab, Badakhshan, Kunar, Kunduz and Helmand provinces.

Statement said that in these operations 43 Taliban were killed and 11 others were injured.

During these operations, in Dehrawood district of Uruzgan province, 15 insurgents were killed and other 3 were wounded, in Qarabagh,  Aaband and Moqor districts of Ghazni, eight insurgents were killed and other three were wounded in Greshk district of Helmand province, seven Taliban terrorists were killed in Dawlat Abad district of Faryab, six insurgents were killed. .

Similarly, in Emam Saheb district of Kunduz, three Taliban terrorists were killed and other three were wounded in Chapa Dara district of Kunar, two insurgents were killed and one other was wounded in Kota-Ushtro area of Maidan Wardak province, two insurgents were killed and one was wounded.

In past 24 hours, 20 planed clearing operations, 26 special operations and 2 night raids conducted in 14 provinces, also, Air forces conducted 89aerial operations supporting Afghan National army including 10 strikes on enemy’s sanctuaries.

ANA discovered and confiscated weapons and ammunition in the operations as well.
