46 terrorists dead in raids

AT News Report-KABUL: Military operations by Afghan security and defense forces across the country have left at least 46 militants killed and 34 wounded within past day, defense ministry said.

In a press release issued here, Ministry of Defense, (MoD) said that Afghan National  Army (ANA) in collaboration with Afghan National Police (ANP) and National Directorate of Security (NDS) personal has conducted joint operations against insurgents in different areas of in Nangarhar, Ghazni, Paktia, Khost, Kandahar, Zabul, Oruzgan, Badghis, Herat, Faryab, Baghlan, Sarepul and Helmand provinces.

Statement said that in these operations 46 insurgents were killed and 34 others wounded.

Afghan National and Defense Security forces shelled and bombed the enemies’ positions and sanctuaries by artilleries and air forces.

During these operations in the past 24 hours, 18 insurgents were killed, 25 were wounded in Ab Band district of Ghaznai and wide areas were cleared of enemies. 17 insurgents were killed, 4 were wounded, 2 motorcycles and 22 hideouts were destroyed in Garmser district of Helmand. 5 ISIS affiliates were killed in Manogai district of Kunar. 4 insurgents were killed, 2 were wounded and a motorcycle was destroyed in Nerkh district of Maidan Wardak. 2 insurgents were killed and 3 others were wounded in Trenkot city, Oruzgan capital.

In past 24 hours,18 planed clearing operations,and 116 Special Forces operations conducted in different provinces; also, Air forces conducted90aerial operations supporting Afghan National army including seven strikes on enemy’s sanctuaries.

ANA discovered and confiscated weapons and ammunition in the operations as well.

ANA as the nation’s defense forces are ready to give sacrifice to bring lasting peace and security to the people and are determined to eradicate terror groups in Afghanistan.
