51 insurgents killed in raids

AT-KABUL: At least 51 militants were killed and 43 others were wounded in different crackdowns within past 24 hours.

In a press release issued here, Ministry of Defense, (MoD)said that Afghan National Army (ANA) in collaboration with Afghan National Police (ANP) and National Directorate of Security (NDS) personal has conducted joint operations against insurgents in different areas Nangarhar, Kapisa, Paktia , Paktika, Ghazni, Kandahar, Badghis , Baghlan, Balkh, Faryab, Uruzgan and Helmand provinces.

Statement said that in these operations 51 Taliban and 43 others were injured.

During these operations, in Khas Urzgan and Dehrawood districts of Urzgan province, 18 insurgents were killed 10 others wounded, in Dehyak, Andar districts and center of Ghazni, 17 insurgents were killed and nine others wounded, in Khakriz district of Kandahar 11 insurgents killed and 17 others injured, in Janikhil districts of Paktia five rebels were killed and seven others were wounded.

In past 24 hours, 16 planed clearing operations, 17 special operations and one night raids conducted in 13 provinces; also, Air forces conducted 91 aerial operations supporting Afghan National army including 15 strikes on enemy’s sanctuaries.

ANA discovered and confiscated weapons and ammunition in the operations as well.
