60 Taliban fighters killed in Paktika

AT-KABUL: At least 60 armed Taliban militants were killed and 40 others wounded in Afghan National Security Forces massive counterinsurgency operation in Paktika within past 24 hours.

Afghan National Police and Afghan National Army launched large-scale counterinsurgency joint operation in Surobi district, Paktika province, which as a result, 60 armed Taliban were killed and 40 other armed Taliban were wounded, said statement issued by Ministry of Interior.

Eight vehicles, 14 motorcycles, one machine gun and some amount of ammunition belonging to the armed Taliban were also destroyed during the operation, added statement.

In a separate report, six armed Taliban insurgents were killed following a military operation.
The operation was carried out jointly by Afghan National Defense and Security Forces in Jani Khil district, Paktia province.
Afghan National Defense and Security Forces discovered five different types of IEDs as well.
The Afghan National Defense and Security Forces have stepped up Counter-Terrorism operations to suppress the insurgency activities of the terror groups.
