61 insurgents killed in raids

AT-KABUL: At least 61 militants were killed and 50 others were wounded in different crackdowns within past 24 hours.

In a press release issued here, Ministry of Defense, (MoD)said that Afghan National Army (ANA) in collaboration with Afghan National Police (ANP) and National Directorate of Security (NDS) personal has conducted joint operations against insurgents in different areas Nangarhar, Kapisa, Paktia, Ghazni, Kandahar, Zabul, Uruzgan, Herat, Badghis, Balkh, Faryab, Logar and Helmand province.

The press release added that in these operations 61 insurgents including two Daesh affiliates were killed and 50 others were injured.

During these operations in the past 24 hours, Afghan National and Defense Security forces shelled and bombed the enemies’ positions by artilleries and air force

Four insurgents were arrested and handed over to judicial organs for further inquiry.

During these operations, 25 Taliban fighters were killed and 38 others wounded in Qaisar and Pashtoonkot districts of Faryab, 16 insurgents were killed in Nawah and Grishk district of Helmand province, 12 rebels were killed and nine other injured in Dehyak and Andar district of Ghazni.

Similar two Daesh fighters were killed in Achin district of Nangarhar, two insurgents were killed and four other injured in Mohammad Agha district of Logar and four Taliban fighters were killed and three others wounded in Adraskan district of Herat.

In past 24 hours, 12 planed clearing operations, 14 Special Forces operations conducted in 12 provinces; also, Air forces conducted 99 aerial operations supporting Afghan National army including 17 strikes on enemy’s sanctuaries.

ANA discovered and confiscated weapons and ammunition in the operations as well.
