AT-KABUL: The Ministry of Defense has said that Seventy-seven insurgents, including twenty-two Daesh militants have been killed and sixteen others sustained heavy injuries in military operations carried out by the Afghan security forces in different parts of the country during past 24 hours.
In a statement, the MoD said that military operations had been conducted in Logar, Khost, Paktia, Kapisa, Faryab, Herat, Kandahar, Helmand and Kunduz provinces.
Twenty-three militants, including seven foreign terrorists have been killed and three others wounded in the Pashtonkot district of Faryab, the statement said, adding that 15 motorcycles, a machine gun and anti aircraft guns were also seized.
Moreover, twenty-two more insurgents have been killed in Nesh district of Kandahar and some other militants loyal to the Daesh loyalists were killed in Nazyan district of eastern Nangarhar province. According to the statement, three militants have been killed in Kunduz and four in Laghman.
The Afghan security forces are bravely and successfully chasing insurgency across the country by conducting air and ground operations against the insurgent outfits. The recent military operations have been resulted in heavy human loses to the militant groups which is a big development and encouraging start of the New Year. Moreover, the Afghan government has backed the US call to deploy more troops in Afghanistan to overcome any new threat, posing by militants and also help Afghan security forces to nip the evil in the bud.
