8 dead in Kandahar crash
AT-KABUL: At least 8 passengers of a commuting bus have been killed and 21 more people have been wounded after the bus struck into another passing car Kandahar-Herat highway.
“8 passengers were killed and 21 other wounded in a traffic accident took place at around 1:30pm today in Kandahar-Herat highway,” said Kandahar Governor Spokesman Qudratullah Khoshbakht.
He said that the bus was on way while the traffic accident took place in Maiwand district of Kandahar. A team has been sent to the area for helping passengers. According to report the bust collided with a corolla vehicle in the highway.
Initial report says that carelessness and high speed of the bus was main reason behind the traffic accident.
It is pertained to mention that substandard highway and lack of traffic sign is the major accident behind traffic accident, which claims lives of tens of passengers annually in Kabul-Kandahar-Herat highway.
