83 insurgents killed in military raids

AT-KABUL: At least 83militants were killed and81others wounded in joint military crackdowns within past days.

In a press release issued here, Ministry of Defense, (MoD) said that Afghan National Army (ANA) in collaboration with Afghan National Police (ANP) and National Directorate of Security (NDS) personal has conducted joint operations against insurgents in different areas Laghman, Kapisa, Ghazni, Khost, Logar, Paktia, Paktika, Kandahar, Uruzgan, Zabul, Badghis, Balkh, Takhar, Faryab, Kunduz, Badakhshan and Helmand provinces.

Statement said that in these operations83insurgentswere killed and 81others wounded.

Afghan National and Defense Security forces shelled and bombed the enemies’ positions and sanctuaries by artilleries and air forces.

During these operations in the past 24 hours, 38 Taliban fighters were killed, 42 others wounded in Chaharbolak and Chamtal districts of Balkh, 17 insurgents were killed, 18 others wounded and two vehicle with ammunition belonged to enemies destroyed in Khogiani, Andar and Noghi area center of Ghazni, eight rebels were killed and ten others wounded in Almar district of Faryab, six militants were killed and four others wounded in Tushkan district of Badakhshan, five terrorists were killed and seven others wounded in Qala-e-Zal district of Kunduz province.

Similar, four insurgents were killed in Raghistan district of Kandahar, three militants were killed and some weapons destroyed in Grishk district and SorGudar area of Lashkargah city of Helmand, one insurgent was killed in Shahjoi district of Zabul and one militant was killed in Wormamai district of Paktika province.

In past 24 hours,11planed clearing operations, and 71 Special Forces operations conducted in different provinces; also, Air forces conducted 89aerial operations supporting Afghan National army including20 strikes on enemy’s sanctuaries.

ANA discovered and confiscated weapons and ammunition in the operations as well.

ANA as the nation’s defense forces are ready to give sacrifice to bring lasting peace and security to the people and are determined to eradicate terror groups in Afghanistan.
