86 insurgents killed in raids: MoD

AT-KABUL: 86 Taliban fighters were killed and 41 others were wounded in different crackdowns within past 24 hours.

In a press release issued here, Ministry of Defense, (MoD) said that Afghan National Army (ANA) in collaboration with Afghan National Police (ANP) and National Directorate of Security (NDS) conducted operations against insurgents in different areas of Nangarhar, Paktia, Paktika, Ghazni, Baghlan, Balkh, Farah, Jawzjan, Faryab, Kunduz, Kandahar, Ghor, Badghis, Badakhshan and Helmand provinces.

“In these operations, 86 rebels including 21 Daesh fighters were killed and 41 others were injured,” the statement said.

24 insurgents were arrested and handed over to judicial organs for further inquiry.

ANP discovered and confiscated weapons and ammunition in the operations as well, according to the statement.

Unfortunately 15 army soldier were killed in the operations.
