AT-KABUL: Nearly 96 Taliban fighters were killed and 61 others were wounded in crackdowns carried out by security forces in different provinces.
The Interior Ministry on Saturday said in a statement that the Afghan National Police (ANP) in collaboration with the Afghan National Army (ANA) and the National Directorate of Security (NDS) conducted military operations against insurgents in various parts of Takhar, Kunduz, Badakhshan, Jawzjan, Uruzgan, Ghazni, Paktia, Paktika, Khost, Kandahar and Helmand provinces. At least 96 rebels were eliminated and 61 others injured in the military operations, the ministry said.
The statement added that four insurgents were arrested and sent to judiciary for further inquiry. The ANP recovered huge cache of weapons and ammunition in the operations, the ministry claimed.
