99 insurgents killed in raids

AT-KABUL: At least 99 militants were killed and 68 others were wounded in different crackdowns within past 24 hours.

In a press release issued here, Ministry of Defense, (MoD)said that Afghan National Army (ANA) in collaboration with Afghan National Police (ANP) and National Directorate of Security (NDS) personal has conducted joint operations against insurgents in different areas Nangarhar, Kapisa, Laghman, Paktia, Ghazni, Logar, Kandahar, Uruzgan, Farah, Badghis, Jawzjan, Faryab, Kunduz, Balkh, Badakhshan and Helmand province.

Statement said that in these operations 99 insurgents including a Taliban district chief and five Daesh affiliates were killed and 68 others were injured.

During these operations in the past 24 hours, Afghan National and Defense Security forces shelled and bombed the enemies’ positions by artilleries and air force

During these operations, 31 insurgents were killed and 16 other were wounded in Imam district of Kunduz, 42 rebelse were killed and 21 others wounded in Chora district of Urzgan, eight were killed and five others wounded in Qarabagh district of Ghazni and five Daesh fighters were killed and one injured in Achin district of Nangarhar.

Similar five Taliban fighters including a Taliban chief district were killed and two other injured in Yaftal district of Badakhshan, four insurgents killed and five other wounded in Qaisar district of Faryab, three Taliban killed and four other wounded in Shahwalikot district of Kandahar and one rebels was killed and four other injured in Charkh district of Logar province.

In past 24 hours, 19 planed clearing operations, nine Special Forces operations conducted in 16 provinces; also, Air forces conducted 102 aerial operations supporting Afghan National army including 18 strikes on enemy’s sanctuaries.

ANA discovered and confiscated weapons and ammunition in the operations as well.
