Activists ask govt. to introduce nominees for security organs

AT-KABUL: The Civil society bodies condemned the recent suicide attack in Kabul in a strongest and possible terms, asking the National Unity Government to introduce new nominees for the Ministry of Defense and also for the National Directorate of Security to the parliament for vote of confidence as soon as possible. These two key security organs is currently running by caretakers.

The civil society activists briefing newsmen on Wednesday termed Tuesday’s suicide attack as a war crime against the innocent people, where civilians were the most victims of the deadly attack.

They asked government to hold no more peace talks with the enemies of the Afghan people, and also stop spending of millions of dollars in peace process, that bears no result.

They called on the international community to pressurize those countries who are supporting insurgency by providing weapons and drafting evil designs against Afghanistan.

“Caretakers in vital security organs resulted in empowering of the insurgents,” they said, lamenting that lack of cooperation among security organs was another challenge.

The civil society activists urged the government to immediately introduce new nominees for the Minister of Defense and also for the National Directorate of Security to parliament for vote of confidence.
