AT Monitoring Desk-KABUL: The Afghanistan Football Federation (AFF) on Saturday announced that the national team B would play against Pakistan football team in a friendly match which is due to be organized in upcoming couple of days.
The squad announced by the AFF is comprised of players from players from Kabul, Kunduz, Herat, Paktia, Panjshir, Laghman, Ghazni, Zabul, Balkh, Maidan Wardak and Baghlan province.
According to a press release by the AFF, the team includes Hamid Yusufzai, Kawish Haidari, Mahbubullah, Ahmad Farshad, Farzad Atae, Mohammad Afshar, Mujtaba Faiz, Syed Naweed, Masood Hashim, Arash Hatifi, Ramez Noorzai, Fardin Hakimi, Faisal Shayesta, Maruf Mohammadi, Mohammad Ahmadi, Mohammad Rafi Barikzai, Mohammad Anwar, Mustafa Razai, Sayid Ali Nasir, Bilal Arzo, Amruddin Sharafi, Mohammad Riza Rizai, Zinuddin Sharafi, Parviz, Mustafa Afshar and Mohammad Hashim.
The venue of the friendly match has not been confirmed so far. However, the Pakistani Football Federation (PFF) officials said earlier that Pakistan is keen to host two matches in Islamabad the capital city of Pakistan and in Lahore city.
This would be the second friendly football match between the national football teams of Afghanistan and Pakistan which is organized almost one and half year after the first match.
The Afghanistan national football team defeated Pakistan 3-0 in the first friendly match which was organized on 20th August last year. Last year’s friendly match between the two neighboring countries was branded as a ‘symbolic’ football clash which was organized after almost 36 years.
