The Mohali police on Tuesday arrested an Afghanistan national for roaming around suspiciously near the Chandigarh international airport.

Police found the visa of Ahmad Manzood had expired last year. He had come to Chandigarh from Delhi on Sunday with his friends. SSP Gurpreet Singh Bhullar said the accused was here to purchase a soap-making machine and had decided to go to Mumbai. He also worked as a translator for tourists from Afghanistan.

He had come to India in 2009 and since then, his passport has expired thrice. He was booked under relevant sections of Foreigners Act at Sohana police station. (Times of India)
