Afghanistan coronavirus: 22 patients die in past 24 hours

KABUL: 22 patients have died in Afghanistan over the past 24 hours, the Public Health Ministry said on Saturday. In total, 1,247 patients have lost their lives battling the virus, and 24,793 others recovered since the outbreak of the virus started in Afghanistan four months ago.

Health ministry said they have registered 48 new coronavirus patients in the last 24 hours. These cases were recorded from 196 suspected samples.

Kabul had 35 coronaviruses, seven reported in Ghazni and six in Balk provinces. Afghanistan now officially has 36,036 covid-19 cases across the country.

Afghanistan has seen a significant drop in coronavirus cases, but the ministry of health called on the Afghan masses to stop from premature jubilant. Officials say that people must pay heed to the health advice in a bid to fully contain the virus.
