Afghanistan records 174 new covid-19 cases in the last 24 hours

KABUL: With 174 new positive cases in the last 24 hours, Afghanistan now officially has 35,463 coronavirus cases across the country. The Ministry of Public Health on Sunday said that out of 633 suspected samples, 174 were reported positive during the period.

17 patients have lost their lives to the virus and 361 others recovered during this period of time, according to the ministry.

66 cases were recorded in Kabul, 27 in Herat, 22 in Badghis, 20 in Bamyan, seven in Badakhshan, six in Takhar, five in Kunduz, four in Nangarhar, four in Ghor, three in Paktia, three in Parwan, two in Kandahar, two in Baghlan, one case each in Maidan Wardak, Helmand and Uruzgan provinces.

The total recoveries have reached to 23,641 and the deaths to 1,181 across the country.
