Afghanistan records 65 new COVID-19 cases

KABUL: Afghanistan has recorded 65 new positive cases of Coronavirus in the past 24 hours, bringing the total tally to 40,833 cases throughout the country, the Ministry of Public Health said Sunday.

These cases come positive out of 444 suspected samples – 19 positive cases were recorded in Herat, 10 in Balkh, nine in Takhar, eight in Kabul, five in Kunduz, four in Zabul, three in Laghman, three in Kunar, two in Nimroz and one cases each in Kandahar and Nuristan provinces.

According to the ministry, three patients have lost their lives to the virus and 106 others were fully recovered during this period of time.

The total recoveries exceeded 34,129 and the deaths reached 1,514 in the country.
