Afs240m pact inked on rural development
AT-KABUL: MoRRDTuesday inked a pact with Provincial Councils to acquire their entire stake in implementation of 99 development projects countrywide.
The Minister of Rural Rehabilitation and Development Mujeeb-u-Rahman Karimi signed an agreement worth 240 million Afghanis with 21 provincial development councils for implementation of 99 development and public-utility projects, said a MoRRD press statement.
Wells will be dug, water reservations established, water network and canals will be erected under the aegis of the agreement. The Afs 240 million projects are funded by the Ministry of Finance and United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF).
Statement elaboratedthe projects will be implemented in Kabul, Khost, Balkh, Badghis, Jawzjan, Samangan, Panjshir, Takhar, Ghazni, Parwan, Ghor, Badakhshan, Nangarhar, Bamyan, Daikundi, Helmand Zabul, Paktia, Faryab, Kandahar and Nuristan provinces.
By implementing of the 99 project 176,000 work day will be established and through the project 22000 families will be benefited, noted statement.
Statement said that considering drought people faced the MoRRD has adopted special preparation to run water reservation and water network projects in order to help people in the aspect.
According to the ministry survey 20 province faced to drought, where out of nine provinces has serious challenges in the aspect. Currently 63 percent of people including 53 percent domestic dwellers have access to drinkable water.
