Airstrikes kill 14 insurgents in Paktia

AT-KABUL: In a separate airstrikes carried out in two districts of Paktia province, at least 14 insurgents have been killed, the security officials said on Tuesday.

First airstrike killed eight militants and wounded four others in Gian district of the province, the Ministry of Defence said in a media statement.

Six insurgents were killed and two other were received injuries in the second airstrike carried out in Gomal district of the province, the statement added.

Moreover, three militants were killed in the vicinity of Ahamd Khel district of the province after the Afghan National Security and Defence Forces conducted clearance operation there, the statement added.

The Taliban insurgents and other militant outfits are yet to comment.
