Campaign launched to garner public support for Paktia University

AT Monitoring Desk-KABUL: Residents launched a week-long campaign on Monday to muster up public support for Paktia University.

Sher Muhammad Rawan, the chancellor of the university, said that they several times urged the government to resolve the challenges that they face at the university campus, but it is yet to act. “Thus, we launched this week-long campaign to seek public support in resolving the problems,” he added.

He urged local people and businessmen to lend their support to the university to resolve the challenges that they face. “We don’t have enough chairs, a proper water supply system and we face several other problems. Businessmen and residents of Paktia province donated us enough money to resolve the challenges,” he said.

A member of the Paktia university lecturers union said that they discussed the idea of launching this campaign with local officials, members of the provincial council, and tribal elders previously. “I am confident that the amount of donation that we will receive from businessmen and local people will enable us to resolve all the challenges that we currently face,” he added.
