Chinese envoy vows to stand by Nangarharis
AT-KABUL: China’s envoy Liu Jinsong has unveiled Chinese government’s plan to provide support to eastern Nangarhar province in the spheres of reconstruction, agriculture, trade and mines.
In a meeting on Sunday with Nangarhar governor Hayatullah Hayat at the Chinese Embassy in Kabul, Jinsong promised that Nangarhar’s pine nuts will be directly exported to China and the province’s marble stones will also be marketed.
He said China would provide more assistance to recently returning families in term of shelter, vocational education and agriculture. He insisted his country was determined to expanding its relations with Afghanistan in various fields.
Governor Hayat thanked Chinese aid with Afghanistan and its mediation in the Afghan peace process, urging the envoy to support trade, mines, agriculture and returning families. He also asked China’s support to Afghan businessmen there.
The governor invited Liu to visit Nangarhar in order to make the relations more strong.
The two sides discussed bilateral issues during the meeting, the governor’s spokesman said.
