Clerics, preachers of solidarity and unity: Karzai
There has been an ample denunciation ever since a radical Islamic State suicide bomber detonated himself near a large tented compound hosting a few thousands clerics who gathered to declare insurgents as forbidden.
AT-KABUL: Former President, Hamid Karzai “strongly” condemned Monday’s terrorist attack that killed and injured some clerics and other civilian people in Kabul.
At least 7 people including some religious scholars were killed after a suicide bomber blew himself up at the entrance of the Loya Jirga grand tent in the Polytechnic University. In addition to that 20 others wounded.
The attack took place just when a large gathering of the religious scholars held at the Loya Jirga tent was over and the participants were getting out.
The scholars declared suicide attacks forbidden in Islam.
Karzai called the clerics as ‘honest’ preachers who propagate unity and solidarity based on the holy Qur’an and the prophet maxims.
“The enemies of the country once again proved with this attack that they do not respect any human and Islamic rights and principle,” Karzai was quoted as saying by a statement.
