AT-KABUL: Daesh fighters have beheaded seven hostages in southern Zabul province, who were abducted two months back, a provincial official said today.
The hostages were executed late yesterday in Arghandab district of Zabul province, provincial security chief, Jilani Farahi told Afghanistan Times.
“They were beheaded by the Daesh fighters and their dead bodies were dumped in house in Arghandab district” Farahi said.
Three women and four men were among those beheaded by the militants. Their bodies were first taken to a local clinic in Shah Joy district Sunday’s morning.
Late afternoon the dead bodies were handed over to tribal elders of Ghazni province, who shifted them to their families.
Zabul province is the first ever southern province where Daesh has been taking roots and active at least in three districts of the province.
Taliban fighters yesterday launched a massive attack in all three districts of Zabul against Daesh. According to officials at least 70 fighters were killed in the Daesh-Taliban skirmishes so far and more than 50 were injured.
Arghandab district where Daesh behead the hostages on Saturday was fully cleared of Daesh by Taliban on Sunday, officials in Zabul province said.
