AT-KABUL: Afghan security forces detained a senior commander of Daesh, also known as Islamic State, in eastern Nangarhar province, Ministry of Interior said on Tuesday in a statement.
The arrested Daesh commander was identified as Sefatullah S/O Agha Mohammad. The IS commander hails from Alingar district of Laghman province, the statement said.
He was involved in different terrorist activities in the province. He was arrested during an operation conducted in Deh Bala district of Nangarhar.
During primary investigation Sefatullah confessed that he was acting as the shadow judge of the terror group in the area.
Daesh has not commented on arrest of its shadow judge.
Numerous senior Daesh and Taliban commanders have been killed or detained by the Afghan forces since the terror group attempted to expand foothold.
