Demand of eggs, chicken product increased in Nangarhar

AT-KABUL: The Ministry of Agriculture, Irrigation and Livestock on Saturday said that the eggs and chicken products had increased significantly in eastern Nangarhar province.

The ministry added that eggs products increased from 123,000 to 433,000 in the second quarter in Nangarhar. Chicken products increased from 163,000 pieces to 557 pieces, increasing the revenue from 6.24 million afs to 15 million afs.

Preferring of domestic products than foreign was other factor behind the increase of chicken and egg products in the province, added statement.

The statement highlighted that Pakistani chicken marred the domestic products recently, but now domestic product’s market is in a better condition.

It said that after closing of Torkahm, most of poultry farm reactivated in the province, even people started small poultry projects at their houses.

The ministry will struggle its best to grant more facilities for poultry and boost up domestic products in Nangarhar province, statement underlined.
