Enekas TV head freed after months of captivity

KABUL: Eneaks TV head held for five months by kidnappers in eastern Nangarhar province was rescued on Wednesday by Afghan security forces sweeping through the city in a crackdown against kidnappers, security official said.

Ministry of Interior said Zalmai Latifi, Enekas TV head was released after being under captivity for five months in eastern Nangarhar province.

MoI Spokesman Nasrat Rahimi said Latifi rescued during an operation in Nangarhar.   

Meanwhile provincial governor spokesman Attaullah Khogianai confirmed Mr. Latifi’s releasement, saying Nangarhar Governor and Enekas TV staffers had played an important role in his release.
