“Fraud will plague elections if system remains unchanged”

AT-KABUL: Political parties have once again raised prospects of massive-scale fraud in the forthcoming parliamentary elections if the government continued to brush off their request for a change in election system.

Political parties in a declaration turned the heat up on the government and the election panels for showing no political willingness for a transparent election. “Political parties believe that the parliamentary elections will be crisis and fraud-ridden should our blueprint for ‘a change in electoral system, biometric voting in Election Day, and effective observation of elections’ be ignored,” read the declaration.

Political parties also declared their support from transparent and fraud-free elections and said they expected the government and the election commission to utilize their plan for change and discharge its duty to prevent from chaos and national mistrust.
