Ghani accepts credentials of new Indian ambassador

AT-KABUL: President Ashraf Ghani accepted the credentials of new Indian ambassador, Manpreet Vohra, to Afghanistan here on Sunday.

In a media statement issued here, Presidential Office said that the two sides discussed different issues of mutual interest including bilateral relations and cooperation between Kabul and New Delhi. The deputy foreign minister of Afghanistan, Hikmat Khalil Karzai, was also present on the occasion.

President Ghani wished Vohra success in his new career. The new Indian ambassador formally took charge of office on Wednesday, succeeding Amar Sinha.

Expressing his country’s commitment to support the Afghan government in different areas, Ambassador Vohra said that he would do his best to enhance the bilateral relations further.
