Ghani, Qureshi discusscounter-terrorism, peace

AT News Report-KABUL: President Ashraf Ghani and Pakistani Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi met on Saturday in Kabul and discussed counter-terrorism and Afghan peace process, in the maiden visit of Pakistan’s top diplomat to the country.

Pakistani top diplomat arrived in Kabul early on Saturday to meet with Afghan leaders and lure their attention towards Islamabad’s rhetoric of rethinking ties with its neighbors.

Ghani and Qureshi discussed fundamental issues including security, peace and stability in the region, joint combat against terrorism, and implementation of Afghanistan-Pakistan Action Plan for Peace and Solidarity (APAPPS).

President Ghani underscored the importance of the APAPPS and called it a ‘comprehensive plan’ which will have exponential effectsonce implemented.

Both the dignitaries also emphasized on the Afghan-owned and Afghan-led ‘peace and reconciliationprocess’.
