Ghazni’s Jaghato retaken after two years

KABUL: The Afghan security forces have recaptured Jaghato district of southern Ghazni province after two years being under bagged by the Taliban group, security official said Sunday.

Ministry of Defense in a statement said that Jaghato retaken after Afghan security forces conducted Operation Mobeen, involving airstrikes.

Despite Taliban insurgents suffered huge casualties, the ministry said that a number of landmines were also defused.

However, the ministry did not give any information about casualties on part of Afghan security forces and civilians.

The Taliban group yet to react on the news of losing control of a district.

Malistan, Jaghori, Ajristan, and Nawor districts now have regained access to the provicnal capital after Jaghato recapture.
