Govt retakes grabbed land in Laghman

AT-KABUL: Over 100 acres government lands usurped by the powerful individuals were reclaimed in eastern Laghman province.

Land grabbing is a big challenge a serious challenge in different provinces, thousands acres have been usurped by powerful people in the past decades.

The government is trying to regain the usurped lands, but the land mafia still holds thousands of lands.

The local government recaptured 150 acres land from mafia in Sultan Ghazi Baba in Laghman province, said a statement issued by Provincial Government Press office.

The constructed house and buildings destroyed by municipality on the lands grabbed illegally and three usurper arrested, added the statement.

Statement said that municipality warned the land mafia that they will face legal reaction, if struggling again for usurping land in the area.

Reclaim of usurp land will be continued in the provinces and efforts will be on table to recover all lands grabbed by mafia in Laghman, noted the statement.
