Govt to rehabilitate 350 addicts in Kabul

AT-KABUL: The Ministry of Public Health (MoPH) in cooperation with the Ministry of Interior (MoI) and other organizations rounded up as many as 350 drug addicts in Kabul.

The MoPH in a joint venture with Ministry of Counternarcotics, the MoI, Ministry of Economy and Ministry of Labor, Social Affairs, Martyrs and Disabled rounded up 350 drug users from Pul-e-Sokhta area of Kabul and transferred them to a newly established rehabilitation center.

Despite treatment, the drug addicts would also receive vocational trainings in the 1,000-bed rehabilitation center.

President Ashraf Ghani recently assigned a commission to combat against drug addiction across the country. Rounding up the 350 addicts was the first move of the commission in this regard.

The Minister of Public Health Ferozuddin Feroz told reporters that the government has a strong resolve to combat against drug use.
