Grand National Coalition of Afghanistan formed

By Farhad Naibkhel-KABUL: The Grand National Coalition of Afghanistan (GNCA) on Thursday officially announced its creation, stressing on good governance, free, fair and transparent elections, peace, stability and economy prosperity of the country.

The grand coalition formed under leading of First Vice President, and Leader of Junbish Party, Gen. Abdul Rashid Dostum, Jamiat-i-Islami Chief Executive Officer, Atta Mohammad Noor, Second Deputy of Chief Executive of National Unity Government, Mohammad Mohaqiq, ex-spy chief, Rahmatullah Nabil, Anwar-Ul-Haq Ahadi, Head of New National Front and some other political figures and member of parliaments.

According to the leadership members of GNCA, the aim of coalition is to work for good governance, peace process, stability, unity, reform, economic development, creation of job, and seeking ways for running of a free, fair and transparent elections.

During inaugural ceremony, Jamiat-i-Islami Chief Executive, Noor said Afghanistan is in critical situation, so it is their responsibility to safeguard it, and the nation.

He said intensification of war, poverty, discrimination, omitting of ethnic figures from power, monopoly by few figures have turned the country toward devastation.

“All abovementioned problems have created gap between government, and people, as well among political figures and Presidential Palace,” he said, adding coldness is increasing on daily basis.

Dualism and giving privilege based on personal momentous, and suppression of national figures have utterly undermined justice system in the country, he noted.

He said that GNCA is formed to deal with abovementioned challenges, calling on Presidential Palace to consult and discuss with them challenging issues in order find a proper way to overcome it.

Pointing toward rising of different flags recently in some provinces, he said lack of justly politic and insulting of some ethnics was main reason behind the issue.

Pointing toward fake Tazkera and voting stickers, he said ‘we don’t want a fraudulently elections, thus biometric system must be established’.

Lack of proper management caused surge in casualties among security forces, which is a big risk for national interest, he asserted.

“Primary steps to establish this coalition was taken in Turkey, and today we are complete,” Deputy Chief Executive, Mohaqiq said. “We are here to fill the gaps”.

He said as Jihadi parties shined well during Jihad in the battlefields, similarly they would play great role in political and democracy aspects. “This coalition is established for unity”.

Pointing toward Ex-President Hamid Karzai, he said that Karzai exerted indefatigable efforts during his presidency and had bolstered up unity among nation and political parties. “All people, from political parties to ordinary people were being consulted in all important matters of the country.” However, situation has now become so tense that Afghans eager to seek refuge in other countries.

Hinting toward Faryab incident, he said the NUG chasing its own commanders that could be proven deadly for the country and a great risk to unity.

Regarding elections, he rejected acceptance of any sort of elections which is sink with fraud. “I call on government to respect political parties demand.”

Spokesman of Junbish Islamic Party, Bashir Ahmad Tayanj termed establishing of GNCA vital that could play positive role in the country. “This coalition will make impossible possible, and possible impossible,” he said, referring to the power of this party.
