KABUL: Afghanistan Independent Human Rights Commission (AIHRC) has called on related-security agencies to investigate the killing of Bismillah Adel Aimaq, the Editor-in-Chief of Radio Sadai Ghor (Ghor vice) and the recent attack on his father’s house that left three people dead.

Unidentified gunmen attacked the family home of journalist Bismillah Aimaq in Feroz Koh, the capital city of Ghor province, and killed three family members of the slain journalist.

Besmillah Adel was shot and killed around two months ago in front of his house.

AIHRC in a statement said that the Taliban’s local commander attacked Besmillah Adel’s father’s house and killed three members of the family, including a 13 years old girl.  Another four members, including an underage girl received injuries in the incident.

In a series of tweets, AIHRC said that another three members of the family were taken hostage by the attackers.

The AIHRC called on security agencies to accelerate efforts to bring the culprits to justice.

Provincial security officials said that a team has been assigned to probe the incident.
