AT Monitoring Desk-KABUL: Following the first round of peace talks between the Afghan government delegation and the Taliban representatives in Islamabad, the High Peace Council (HPC) said the other day that is preparing for the second round of the dialogues.
Quoted by Radio Azadi, HPC spokesman, Shahzada Shahid, said they have started preparing from the upcoming round of the peace talks with the Taliban.
He said the executive committee was working on the issue. “We have held meetings and the HPC members will meet the government leaders in next days. We are working on agenda of the upcoming rounds which will include the ceasefire appeal,” he said as quoted by Radio Azadi.
President Ghani recently said in the first day of Eid that the upcoming round of peace talks will be held within two weeks.
Moreover, Mullah Omar, the Taliban’s leader, confirmed the peace talks with the Afghan government through his Eid message.
About Mullah Omar’s message, Shahzada Shahid said the message can make people hopeful at some extent.
He said the message was welcomed in parts of the country.
He added that the date and location of the second round of peace talks is not known so far. As well as, he has not mentioned names of the Afghan delegation.
