Hundreds protest against Taliban in Kabul city

A large demonstration was organized in capital Kabul this morning to protest against the atrocities committed by the Taliban group.

The demonstration has been organized by the Afghanistan Green Trend led by the former Afghan intelligence chief Amrullah Saleh.

The rally participants gathered near Eid Gah mosque chanting anti-Taliban slogans as they aid to deliver final statement near the presidential palace.

In a Twitter post, the head of Afghanistan Green Trend, Amrullah Saleh said “Anti Taliban protest organized by the AGT is blocked by the police.Demonstrators want to pass their statement to palace.”

The demonstration has been organized days after the Taliban group committed a horrific attack against the passengers in northern Kunduz province.

The group’s militants abducted at least 185 passengers from a highway in northern Kunduz province of Afghanistan on charges of working the for the government.

The majority of the passengers were released hours after they were kidnapped but the Taliban militants killed at least 17 of them and kept several others in custody.

The Afghan forces managed to rescue at least 10 of the kidnapped civilians and it is believed at least 8 of them are in still in the custody of Taliban militants. (KP)
