Hundreds of voting stickers lost in Paktia
AT-KABUL: Some candidates for the upcoming parliamentarian election in Paktia province said that hundreds of the stickers used on the cover of the voters’ ID cards had been lost.
These candidates called this as a matter of great concern. In a press conference held Monday in Gardez city, the provincial capital, these candidates accuse the incumbent lawmakers of misusing the stickers to win the election.
The missing of stickers took place in the provincial capital, but neither the local officials nor the election commission made statements in this regard.
The new candidates said of a big fraud in the voting registration in the province, claiming that the election commission officials were involved in the fraud. The provincial election commission did not react to the accusation.
The candidates added that the independent electoral complaints commission ignored their complaints in this regard.
Local officials say that the stickers went missing from the provincial election commission office, and the commission officials should be responsible.
