JSMM condemns arrest of AHRC commissioner in Thailand

AT-BERLIN: Chairman of the Jeay Sindh Muttahida Mahaz (JSMM) Shafi Muhammad Burfat condemned arrest of the Asian Human Rights Commission (AHRC) commissioner Bashir Naveed and Munir Mengal in Thailand.

Talking to Afghanistan Times, Burfat said the Thai government arrested Bashir Naveed and Munir Mengal on behest of the Chinese and Pakistani governments.

He said the Thai government did not disclose why the two members of the JSMM were arrested, though they did not violate any law of the country.

“We condemn it as a human rights violation. JSMM will protest the arrest of Mr Baseer Naveed on national as well as international level if they were not freed immediately,” Burfat said.

He said the arrested party members went to Thailand to attend a seminar.
